Meet the coolest grandma in town. Lola Techie, BayanTel’s supergranny. You must never underestimate her. As in, ever.
I’m pretty sure any kid would love to have a super-cool granny like Lola Techie.
A computer savvy, she can outdo any common websurfer, even I myself cannot dare to compare my average skills to hers. She plays online games, the kind that boys go loco over (I’m sure it was a “gonna-gun-you-down” game she was playing on the commercial). She does Plurk, Twitter, and Facebook. She posts and views videos on Youtube. And this you’ll never believe. She maintains her own personal website, and she’s always ready to send you a reply, with her very fast internet connection.
I would not know how anyone would react if I have a lola who can cope up with (she might even surpass) one’s internet capabilities. It might be intimidating to others, but I would be proud to have her. Imagine this: I could share a clan in Vampire Wars or join mafia in Mafia Wars with her. We could check out each other’s status in Facebook, Plurk, Twitter, or Friendster. And we could share blogs, play online games… She could teach me how to play DotA (I really wanted to learn how to play that, but no one’s patient enough to teach me), or Conquer, or any other games. I could share with her some cool websites I have found out. I’m sure we could have great bonding moments online. So, how cool is that!
But I could only imagine it. It’s either real-life gramps and grannies have shunned themselves away from technological advancement, or we, kids of the new generation, are not too patient to integrate them to the techno world. Whatever it is, we had left them behind.

But wouldn’t it be great if we had bonding moments with our grandpas and grandmas through the internet?
Then there would be more than just Lola Techie around. And the world might be a lot better, and way cooler than it is now.
Hurrah for more Lola Techie!
